Welcome to the North Carolina Ghost Guide, an investigation of the best-known North Carolina ghost stories. Well okay, to be honest, I haven't had a whole lot of success finding any ghosts. Yet.
But what you will find at this site is the original ghost story, plus what I found when I got
there, as well as directions to, and a few pictures I took of, the places the ghosts are rumored to exist.
Feel free to send me stories of your own local legends, wherever you might be
(hey, I like a good ghost story as much as the next guy),
though for obvious reasons only the North Carolina stuff can get posted. And if anybody has any clarification of any of these tales,
or if my directions seem to be lacking,
then be sure to
write me and let me know!
Scroll down to see a list of the more renowned ghosts and legends of North Carolina; if you don't see what you're looking for, try either the "Miscellaneous Stories" or the "Reader Submissions" links at the bottom of this page. If you still don't find what you're looking for, write! I suppose I should state at this point that I am NOT associated with any ghost hunters group, nor is there anything remotely scientific about my methods. Besides a few good ghost stories, the only thing you'll read about here are the adventures of a boy and his dog...
I've also included a few LINKS if you think you need 'em- Happy Hunting!
